Exodus_Chapter 10

The Lord said to Moses, Go in and see Pharaoh. I have hardened his heart and that of his servants, so that these miracles of mine may be revealed among them,

And I will make you proclaim in the ears of your son and your grandson the things I have done to the Egyptians and the miracles I have done among them, so that you may know that I am the Lord.

Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and said to him, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: How long will you not humble yourself before me?’? Let my people go, so that they may serve me.

If you refuse to let my people go, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory,

Covering the ground to the point where it cannot be seen, and eating the remnants of the hail and all the trees growing in the field.

Your palace, the houses of your servants, and all the houses of the Egyptians will be filled with locusts. Since your ancestors and your ancestors were alive, we have not seen such a disaster to this day. Moses turned around and left Pharaoh.

Pharaoh’s servants said to Pharaoh, “How long will this man be a trap for us?”? Let these people go and serve the Lord their God, do you not know that Egypt has been destroyed?

So Moses and Aaron were called back to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh said to them, Go and serve the Lord your God, but who is that who is going?

Moses said, We will go with our old and young, our sons and daughters, and bring our flocks and herds with us, because we must keep a feast to the Lord.

Pharaoh said to them, “When I let you and your women and children go, let the Lord be with you. Be careful, for evil is in your sight.”,

Do not all go, you young men, go and serve the Lord, for this is what you have requested. So he drove them out from before Pharaoh.

The Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your rod towards the land of Egypt, so that locusts may come up to the land and eat all the vegetables on the ground, which are left over from hail.’.

Moses stretched out his staff towards the land of Egypt. That day and night, the Lord caused an east wind to blow on the land of Egypt. In the morning, the east wind brought locusts.

The locusts came up and landed on the four borders of Egypt, and they were very powerful. There was no such thing before, and there will be no such thing in the future.

Because this locust covers the ground, so much so that it becomes dark, and eats all the vegetables on the ground and the fruits of the trees left by the hail. Egypt is everywhere, whether it’s trees or vegetables in the fields, not even a single bit of green remains.

So Pharaoh hastily summoned Moses and Aaron, saying, I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you.

Now, please forgive my sins only this time, and I pray to the Lord your God to deliver me from this death.

Moses left Pharaoh and begged the Lord.

The Lord turned a strong west wind and lifted up locusts, blowing them into the Red Sea, leaving not a single one on all four sides of Egypt.

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart and did not allow the Israelites to go.

The Lord said to Moses, ‘Stretch out your rod to heaven and make the land of Egypt dark, as if it could be touched.’.

Moses stretched out his staff to heaven, and the land of Egypt became black for three days.

For three days, people could not see each other, and no one dared to get up and leave their place, but there was light in every house of Israel.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go and serve the Lord, but keep your flocks and herds, and let your women and children go with you.”.

Moses said, You must always give us sacrifices and burnt offerings so that we can worship the Lord our God.

Our livestock will also be taken away, not even a hoof will be left behind, because we will take them out and serve the Lord our God. We haven’t arrived there yet, and we don’t know how to serve the Lord.

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart and refused to let them go.

Pharaoh said to Moses, “Go away from me, be careful not to see my face again, for on the day you see my face, you will die.”.

Moses said, You said well, I will never see your face again.
