Chronicles of the Past Dynasties_Chapter 14

King Hiram of Tyre brought cedar wood to David and sent messengers, masons, and carpenters to build a palace for him.

David knew that the Lord had established him as king of Israel and had made his kingdom prosperous for his people Israel.

David appointed a concubine in Jerusalem and gave birth to children.

The sons born in Jerusalem were Shamua, Shoba, Nathan, and Solomon,

Yihai, Elishua, Ephraim,

Noah, Nephir, Japhia,

Elishama, Beriada, and Elifariel.

When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they went up to seek David. David heard this and went out to meet the enemy.

The Philistines have come and are scattered in the valley of Rephaim.

David asked God, “May I go up and attack the Philistines?”? Do you hand them over to me? The Lord said, Go up, and I will deliver them into your hand.

The Philistines came to Baalperazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken through the enemy with my hand, like water rushing away. Therefore, that place is called Baalpirazim.

The Philistines left their gods there, and David ordered them to be burned with fire.

The Philistines were also scattered in the valley of Rephaim.

David asked God again. God said, don’t keep going up, turn around behind them and attack them from opposite the mulberry forest.

You hear the sound of footsteps on the top of the mulberry tree, and you will go to war, because God has gone before you to attack the army of the Philistines.

David followed God’s command and attacked the army of the Philistines from Gibeon to Gezer.

So David’s name spread to the nations, and the Lord made them all afraid of him.
