Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David did.

In the first month of the first year, the door of the temple of the Lord was opened and repaired.

He summoned all the priests and Levites and gathered them in a spacious area on the east side,

And say to them, O Levites, listen to me, now cleanse yourselves and cleanse the temple of the Lord your ancestral God, and remove unclean things from the sanctuary.

Our ancestors have sinned and done evil in the eyes of the Lord our God, abandoning him and turning their backs to his dwelling place,

Seal off the porch, blow out the lights, and do not burn incense or offer burnt offerings to the God of Israel in the sanctuary.

Therefore, the wrath of the Lord came upon Judah and Jerusalem, throwing them back and forth, causing astonishment and ridicule, as you have seen with your own eyes.

So our ancestors fell by the sword, and our wives and children were also taken captive.

Now I intend to make a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

So they went to King Hezekiah and said, “We have cleansed the entire temple of the Lord, the altar of burnt offerings, all its vessels, the table of the bread display, and all its vessels.”.

And the vessels that were discarded during the reign of King Ahaz during his sins, which we have prepared and purified, are now all in front of the altar of the Lord.

King Hezekiah got up early in the morning and gathered the leaders of the city to go up to the temple of the Lord.

He led seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats as a sin offering for the kingdom, for the temple, and for the Jews. The king commanded Aaron’s descendants and priests to offer on the altar of the Lord,

So he slaughtered the bull, and the priest sprinkled the blood on the altar. He slaughtered the ram, sprinkled the blood on the altar, and slaughtered the lamb, sprinkled the blood on the altar.

Bring the male goat for the sin offering to the king and the assembly, and they will lay their hands on it.

The priest slaughtered the sheep and offered their blood as a sin offering on the altar to make atonement for all Israel, because the king ordered the burnt offering and sin offering to be offered to all Israel.

The king also sent the Levites to play cymbals, harps, and harps in the temple of the Lord, as David, his seer Gad, and the prophet Nathan had commanded, as the Lord had commanded through the prophets.

The Levites stood together with David’s instruments and the priests with trumpets.

Hezekiah ordered to offer burnt offerings on the altar. As soon as the burnt offering was offered, he sang a song of praise to the Lord, with a trumpet, and with the instruments of King David of Israel.

The congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded, until the burnt offering was finished.

After offering the sacrifice, the king and all those who followed fell down and worshipped.

King Hezekiah and all the leaders ordered the Levites to praise the Lord with the poetry of David and Asaph the seer. They praised the Lord with joy and bowed their heads in worship.

Hezekiah said, Since you are holy to the Lord, come and bring the sacrifices and thanksgiving offerings into the temple of the Lord. And the congregation brought sacrifices and thanksgiving offerings, and all who were willing and willing also brought burnt offerings.

The burnt offerings offered by the congregation are as follows: seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs, all of which are offered as burnt offerings to the Lord.

There are also sacred objects, 600 bulls and 3000 sheep.

But the priests were too few to fully skin the burnt offering, so their brothers the Levites helped them until the burnt offering was finished and other priests purified themselves. Because the Levites are sincere and self purified, surpassing the priests.

The fat of burnt offerings and peace offerings, as well as the drink offerings offered along with the burnt offering, are numerous. So all the affairs in the house of the Lord were prepared.

This matter was done quickly, and Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because God had prepared it for all the people.
