The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Son of man, face the mountains of Israel and prophesy,
Say, O mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the Lord Jehovah. This is what the Lord Jehovah says to the mountains, hills, ditches, and valleys: I will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
Your altars will be desolate, and your images will be shattered. I will make your slain fall before your idols.
I will also put the corpses of the Israelites before their idols, and scatter your bones around your altars.
In all your dwellings, your cities will become desolate, your high places will be desolate, your altars will be abandoned, and your idols will be shattered. Your sun image has been cut down, your work has been destroyed.
The person who is killed will fall among you, and you will know that I am the Lord.
When you are scattered among the nations, I will leave you with those who are free from the sword among the nations.
Those who break free from the sword will remember me among the nations they have taken captive, for how wounded their hearts have been. It is because they have a lustful heart, far away from me, and their eyes have committed adultery against their idols. They will detest themselves for all their detestable evil deeds.
They will know that I am the Lord. I said that I would bring this disaster upon them, it is not empty words.
Thus says the Lord GOD, Clap your hands and pause your feet, saying, Alas. The house of Israel will do all these detestable evil things, and they will fall by the sword, famine, and plague.
Those in the distance will die from the plague. Those who are near will fall under the sword. Those who remain besieged will die due to famine. I will do what my anger has determined on them in this way.
Their slain fell among the idols around their altars, on every high hill, on every mountaintop, under every green tree, and under every dense oak tree, where they offered fragrant offerings to all their idols. At that time, they knew that I was the Lord.
I will stretch out my hand against them, making their land extremely desolate from the wilderness to all their dwellings in Dibeth, and they will know that I am the Lord.
