Book of Ezekiel_Chapter 33

The word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, tell your people that in which country will I bring the sword, the people of that country will choose one among them as a watchman.

If he sees the sword upon that land, and blows the horn to warn all the people,

Anyone who hears the sound of the horn and is not warned, if the sword comes and destroys him, his sins will be on his own head.

He hears the sound of the horn and does not receive warning, and his sins will be on him. If he is on guard, he has saved his own life.

If the watchman sees the sword come and does not blow the horn, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and kills one of them, even though he died in sin, I will demand his blood from the watchman.

Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. So you have to listen to what I say and warn them for me.

I say to the wicked, O wicked, you will surely die. If Ezekiel does not open his mouth to warn the wicked, causing them to depart from their way, they will die in iniquity, but I will demand their blood from you.

If you warn the wicked to turn away from their way, but they do not turn away, they will die in iniquity, but you have saved yourself from sin.

Son of man, say to the house of Israel, You always say, Our transgressions and sins are on us, and we will be destroyed by them. How can we survive?

You say to them, As I live forever, O Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but in their turning away from their way and living. O house of Israel, turn back, turn back. Leaving the evil path, why die?

Son of man, say to your people that the righteousness of the righteous cannot be saved on the day of their sins. As for the evil of the wicked, they cannot be overthrown on the day they turn away from their evil deeds. A righteous person cannot survive on the day of their sin because of their righteousness.

I say to the righteous, You will surely live. If he trusts in his righteousness and does evil, his righteousness will not be remembered. He will die for the sins he has committed.

Moreover, I say to the wicked, You will surely die. If he turns away from his sins and does what is right and reasonable,

Returning a person’s pledge and the plunder, following the laws of life and not committing iniquity, he will surely live and not die.

All the sins he has committed shall not be remembered. He will surely live if he does what is right and reasonable.

Actually, their way is unfair.

If a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he will die because of it.

If an evil person turns away from his evil and does what is right and right, he will live through it.

You also say that the way of the Lord is unfair. O house of Israel, I will judge you according to the ways of each of you.

On the fifth day of the tenth month in the twelfth year after our captivity, someone fled from Jerusalem to me, saying, The city has been conquered.

On the evening of the day before, before the fugitives arrived, the hand of the Lord came down on me and opened my mouth. The next morning, when the person came to me, I opened my mouth and no longer remained silent.

The word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, those who dwell in the desolate land of Israel say, Abraham alone is able to possess this land, and we are many, and this land is given to us for an inheritance.

So you must say to them, ‘This is what the Lord has said:’ If you eat blood, look up to idols, and kill and shed blood, will you still possess this land? ‘?

You rely on your own swords to do detestable things, and everyone defiles their neighbor’s wife. Can you still inherit this land?

You shall say to them, This is what the Lord GOD says: As I live forever, those who are in the wilderness shall fall by the sword. Those in the fields will be handed over to wild beasts to devour. Those in the fortress and cave will die from the plague.

I will make this land desolate and terrifying. Her pride due to power will also cease. The mountains of Israel will be desolate, with no one passing through.

I have made the land desolate and a terror because of all the detestable things they have done. At that time, they knew that I was the Lord.

Son of man, your people are talking about you by the walls and at the doorstep of houses. The brothers said to each other, Come. Listen to what words come from the Lord.

They come to you like a people gathering together, sitting in front of you like my people. They listen to you but don’t do it. Because their mouths reveal love, but their hearts follow wealth and gain.

They see you as an elegant song sung by someone who is skilled in playing music and has a quiet voice, but they listen to your words but do not follow them.

Look, what you said is about to come true. And when it was fulfilled, they knew that there was a prophet among them.
