At first, God created heaven and earth.

The ground is empty and chaotic. The abyss is dark. The spirit of God runs on the water surface.

God said, Let there be light, and there is light.

God saw that light was good, so he separated the light from the darkness.

God calls light day and darkness night. There are evenings and mornings, this is the first day.

God said, There should be air between the waters, dividing the water into upper and lower parts.

God created air and separated the water below it from the water above it. And that’s how it came about.

God calls the air heaven. There is evening, there is morning, it is the second day.

God said, Let the waters of the world be gathered together in one place, so that the dry land may be exposed. And that’s how it came about.

God calls dry land land and the gathering place of water the sea. God looks good.

God said, ‘The earth will bring forth green grass, and vegetables that bear seeds, and trees that bear fruit, each according to its kind, with their fruit wrapped in its core.’. And that’s how it came about.

So green grass and seed bearing vegetables emerged on the earth, each following their own kind, and fruit bearing trees, each following their own kind, with their fruits wrapped in seeds. God looks good.

There is evening and morning, it is the third day.

God said, There shall be a body of light in heaven, to divide day and night, to make signs, to set seasons, days, and years.

And let it shine in the sky and shine on the earth. And that’s how it came about.

So God created two great lights, the one that ruled the day and the one that ruled the night. Create numerous stars again.

Arrange these lights in the sky and shine on the ground.

Manage day and night, distinguish between light and darkness. God looks good.

There is evening and morning, it is the fourth day.

God said, “Let the water give birth to many living things, and let birds fly above the ground in the sky.”.

God created great fish and all kinds of living animals that grew in the water, each following their own kind. And he made all kinds of birds, each according to its kind. God looks good.

And God blessed all of these, saying, Produce and multiply, and fill the waters of the sea. Sparrows and birds should also grow more on the ground.

There is evening and morning, it is the fifth day.

God said, Let the earth give birth to living creatures, each according to its kind. Livestock, insects, and wild animals, each from their own category. And that’s how it came about.

So God created wild beasts, each following their own kind. Livestock, each according to its own category. All insects on the ground follow their own category. God looks good.

God said, “We will make men in our likeness, according to our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the livestock of the earth, and all the earth, and all the insects that crawl on the earth.”.

God created man in his own image, but he created man and woman in his image.

And God blessed them, and said to them, Give birth to many, fill the earth, and govern it. Also manage the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, and all kinds of living creatures on the ground.

God said, “See, I have given you all the vegetables that bear seeds on all the earth and all the fruits with seeds on all the trees as food.”.

As for the beasts on the earth and the birds in the air, as well as all kinds of living creatures crawling on the ground, I will give them green grass as food. And that’s how it came about.

God sees that everything he has created is very good. There is evening and morning, it is the sixth day.
