1 Thessalonians_Chapter 1
Paul, Silas, and Timothy wrote to the church of Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May grace and peace return to you.
We often thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.
In the presence of God and our Father, we constantly remember your work in faith, your labor in love, and your patience in hoping for our Lord Jesus Christ.
O beloved brothers of God, I know that you are chosen.
For our gospel has come to you not only in words, but also in power and the Holy Spirit, and in abundant faith, just as you know how we are with you for your sake.
And in great distress, you received the joy of the Holy Spirit and the truth, and became like us and the Lord.
Even you have become an example to all believers in Macedonia and Achaia.
For the word of the Lord has already been spread from you, and your faith in God has spread not only in Macedonia and Achaea, but also in every place. So there’s no need for us to say anything.
For they themselves have reported how we came to you, how you abandoned your idols and turned to God to serve the true and living God,
Waiting for his son to come from heaven, who was resurrected from the dead, Jesus, who saved us from future wrath.
