st Kings _Chapter 15
In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, son of Nebat, Abijah became king of Judah,
He reigned in Jerusalem for three years. His mother’s name is Maacah, the daughter of Absalom.
All the evil that Abib’s father had done before him, his heart was not like the heart of his father David, who faithfully obeyed the Lord his God.
However, the Lord his God still gave David a light in Jerusalem because of him, and appointed his son to succeed him as king and establish Jerusalem.
For David did all that was right in the eyes of the Lord, except for the matter of Uriah the Hittite, and did not disobey all that the Lord commanded him throughout his life.
During his lifetime, Rehoboam often fought against Jeroboam.
And all the other things that Abijah did, and all that he did, are written in the book of the kings of Judah. Abijah often fought against Jeroboam.
Abiyang slept with his ancestors and was buried in the city of David. His son Asa succeeded him as king.
In the twentieth year of King Jeroboam of Israel, Asa became king of Judah,
He reigned in Jerusalem for forty-one years. His grandmother’s name was Maacah, the daughter of Absalom.
Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David did,
Remove the child molesters from the land and all the idols made by his ancestors.
And he demoted his grandmother, Queen Mary, because she made the detestable idol Asherah. Asa cut down her idols and burned them by the Kidron River,
It’s just that the mound hasn’t been abolished yet. Asa remained faithful to the Lord throughout his life.
Asa brought to the temple of the Lord the gold, silver, and vessels that his father had consecrated, as well as those that he had consecrated himself.
Asa and King Bashar of Israel fought constantly during their lifetime.
King Bashar of Israel came up to attack Judah, built Ramah, and did not allow anyone to enter or leave from King Asa of Judah.
So Asa gave all the gold and silver left in the temple of the Lord and the treasury of the king’s palace into the hands of his servants, and sent them to Benhadad, the son of Bethlehem, the grandson of King Hezon of Aram, who lived in Damascus,
Saying, Your father made a covenant with my father, and I will also make a covenant with you. Now I am giving you gold and silver as a gift, and I request that you annul your covenant with King Bashar of Israel, so that he may depart from me.
Benhadad obeyed the voice of King Asa and sent commanders to attack the cities of Israel. They conquered Eyun, Dan, and all the territories of Abel, Maacah, Kenerith, and Naphtali.
When Bashar heard this, he stopped building Ramah and continued to live in Tirzah.
So King Asa declared to all the people of Judah that no one would refuse, and ordered them to transport the stones and wood that Bashar had used to build Ramah, to be used for the construction of Geba and Mizpah in Benjamin.
And all the other things that Asa did, and all his strength and the cities he built, are written in the book of the kings of Judah. When Asa was old, he had a disease on his feet.
Asa slept with his ancestors and was buried with them in the city of David. His son Jehoshaphat succeeded him as king.
In the second year of King Asa of Judah, Nadab son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel for two years,
Nadab did evil in the eyes of the Lord, did what his father had done, and committed the sin that his father had caused Israel to sin.
Baasha, the son of Ahijah the Issachite, rebelled against Nadab and killed him at Kebedon in the Philistines. At that time, Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibedon.
In the third year of King Asa of Judah, Bashar killed him and usurped his throne.
As soon as Bashar became king, he killed all the house of Jeroboam, and all that had breath left were destroyed, fulfilling the word that the Lord had spoken through his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.
This is because the sins committed by Jeroboam have caused Israel to sin and provoked the anger of the Lord God of Israel.
And all the other things that Nadab did, and all that he did, are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
Asa and King Bashar of Israel fought constantly during their lifetime.
In the third year of King Asa of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, for a total of twenty-four years.
He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, walked in the ways of Jeroboam, and committed the sin that he caused Israel to sin.
