Samuel's note_Chapter 9

David asked, “Is there anyone left in the house of Saul?”. I will show kindness to Jonathan for his sake.

There was a servant named Ziba in the house of Saul, and someone called him to David. The king asked him, “Are you Ziba?”? Answer: The servant is.

The king said, Is there anyone left in the house of Saul. I will treat him with the mercy of God. Ziba said to the king, “There is also a son of Jonathan who is lame.”.

Wang said, where is he. Ziba said to the king, ‘He is in the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Rodeba.’.

So King David sent messengers and called him from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Rodeba.

Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the grandson of Saul, came to David and prostrated himself on the ground. David said, Mephibosheth. Mifebosheth said, My servant is here.

David said, Do not be afraid, for I will show kindness to you because of your father Jonathan, and return all the fields of your grandfather Saul to you. You can also eat with me often.

And Miphibosheth bowed again, saying, What is a servant, but like a dead dog, that he should receive such favor from the king.

The king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “I have given Saul and all his possessions to your master’s son.”.

You and your sons, your servants, are to cultivate the land for your master’s son Mephibosheth and bring what they produce for his consumption. But he often eats with me at the same table. Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

Ziba said to the king, “Whatever my lord the king commands my servants, they will do it.”. And the king said, Mephibosheth will eat at my table, like the king’s son.

Mifebo had a youngest son named Micah. All those who lived in the house of Ziba became servants of Mephibosheth.

So Mephibosheth stayed in Jerusalem and ate with the king. He is lame on both legs.
