The Philistines carried the Ark of God from Ebenezer to Ashdod.

The Philistines brought the ark of God into the temple of Dagon and placed it next to him.

Early the next morning, the people of Ashdod got up and saw Dagon lying down in front of the ark of the Lord, with his face on the ground. They then set Dagon back in his place.
