psalm_Chapter 59
Saul sent messengers to spy on David’s house, intending to kill him. At that time, David gave this golden poem to the music director, calling for it not to be destroyed. O my God, save me from my enemies, and set me high, so that I may escape those who rise up against me.
Please save me from those who do evil and those who love to shed blood.
Because they lay an ambush to harm my life, and capable people gathered to attack me. O Lord, this is not for my wrongdoing, nor for my sin.
Although I have no faults, they are ready and running to attack me. Please rise up to inspect and help me.
Rise up, O God of hosts, O God of Israel, and punish all nations. Do not pity the wicked who practice deceit. (Fine pull)
They turned back at night, barking like dogs, encircling the city.
They spit out evil words in their mouths, with knives in their mouths, and they say who heard them.
But you, Lord, will mock them. You must ridicule all nations.
My strength, I will look up to you. Because God is my high platform.
My God will greet me with love. God will make me see the retribution of my enemies.
Don’t kill them, I’m afraid my people will forget. Lord, you are our shield. Use your power to scatter them and humble them.
May they be entangled in pride for their sins in their mouths, their words in their mouths, and their curses and lies.
May you be angry and destroy them, so that they may return to nothingness, and let them know that God is ruling among Jacob, even to the ends of the earth. (Fine pull)
At night, let them turn back. Let them shout like dogs and surround the city.
They will walk back and forth in search of food. If you can’t be full, stay out all night.
But I will sing of your power, and in the morning I will sing of your love. Because you have served as my platform. In my difficult days, it served as my refuge.
My strength, I will sing praises to you. Because God is my high platform, the God who bestows grace on me.
