psalm_Chapter 2

Why do the nations argue, and why do the nations plan vain things.

The kings of the world rise together, and their officials and rulers consult together to resist the Lord and his anointed one,

Saying, we must break free from their bonds and take off their ropes.

The one sitting in the sky must laugh. The Lord will mock them.

At that time, he will rebuke them in his anger and scare them in his fierce anger,

Say, I have set my ruler on my holy mountain in Zion.

The anointed said, I will proclaim the decree. The Lord said to me, “You are my son, and I have given birth to you today.”.

Ask me, and I will give you the nations as an inheritance, and the ends of the earth as a field.

You will break them with an iron rod. You will shatter them like a potter’s pottery.

Now you kings should understand. Your judges in this world should be disciplined.

Serve the Lord with fear, and be filled with trembling and joy.

Kiss your son with your mouth, lest he be angry and you perish in the way, because his anger is about to erupt. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
