nd Kings _Chapter 17

In the twelfth year of King Ahaz of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah began to reign over Israel in Samaria for nine years.

He does evil in the eyes of the Lord, but not like the kings of Israel before him.

King Samanizer of Assyria came up to attack Hoshea, and Hoshea served him and offered him tribute.

Hoshea betrayed and sent messengers to King Sob of Egypt, not to pay tribute to the king of Assyria as he had done in previous years. When the king of Assyria found out, he locked him up and imprisoned him in prison.

The king of Assyria came up against all the land of Israel and besieged Samaria for three years.

In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and abducted the Israelites to Assyria, placing them by the Haber River in Hara and Gosan, as well as in the cities of the Medes.

This is because the Israelites have sinned against the Lord their God, who led them out of the land of Egypt and escaped from the hands of King Pharaoh, and have gone to fear other gods,

Follow the customs of the Gentiles whom the Lord has driven out before them, and the rules established by the kings of Israel.

The Israelites secretly did evil deeds and rebelled against the Lord their God, building high places in all their cities, from watchtowers to fortified cities.

On each high hill, pillars and puppets under each green tree.

Burning incense on high places, following the ways of the foreigners whom the Lord drove out before them, and stirring up the Lord’s anger by doing evil deeds.

And serve idols, which the Lord warned them not to do.

But the Lord, through the prophets and seers, admonished the Israelites and the Jews, saying, Depart from your evil deeds, keep my commandments and laws, and do the law that I commanded your ancestors, and through my servants the prophets, which I have preached to you.

But they did not listen, but stiffened their necks, following the example of their ancestors who did not believe in the Lord their God,

Rejecting his laws and the covenant he made with their ancestors, and admonishing them, he followed the vain God and became vain, following the Gentiles around him, whom the Lord commanded them not to follow.

Abandoning all the commandments of the Lord their God, he cast himself two images of calves, erected an Asherah, worshipped all the phenomena of heaven, and served Baal,

And they caused their children to go through the fire, to sell themselves through divination and magic, to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, and to provoke him to anger.

So the Lord was greatly angry with the Israelites and drove them out from before him, leaving only one tribe of Judah.

The Jews also did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God and followed the rules set by the Israelites.

And the Lord despised all the people of Israel, causing them to suffer, and delivered them into the hands of those who plundered them, so that they were driven out from before him,

Retrieve the Kingdom of Israel from the house of David. They made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king. Jeroboam tempted the Israelites not to follow the Lord and committed great sins.

The Israelites have committed all the sins of Jeroboam and will not leave,

So that the Lord drove them out from before him, as he had said through his servants the prophets. So the Israelites were taken captive from their land to Assyria until today.

The king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Kota, Ava, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and settled them in the cities of Samaria to replace the Israelites. They obtained Samaria and lived in it.

When they first lived there, they did not fear the Lord, so the Lord called lions into their midst and killed some people.

Someone told the king of Assyria, ‘The people you have relocated and placed in the cities of Samaria do not know the customs of the gods of that land. Therefore, the gods have called lions into their midst and killed them.’.

And the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Bring one of the priests that was taken captive, and let him dwell there, and teach the people the rules of the gods of that land.

So a priest who had been taken captive from Samaria returned and stayed in Bethel, teaching them how to fear the Lord.

However, people of all ethnicities made gods for themselves in their cities and placed them in the high places that the Samaritans had built.

The Babylonian man made a statue of Succubene. The ancient man made a hidden armor statue. The statue of Ashimah made by Hama.

Ava made the image of Neha and Tarta. The people of Sepharvaim burned their children with fire and offered them to the gods of Sepharvaim, Admelech and Anamelech.

They were afraid of the Lord, and they also set up high priests among them to offer sacrifices for them in the temple with high altars.

They feared the Lord and served their own gods, migrating from any land and following the customs of that land.

They continue to follow their previous customs to this day, not fully respecting the Lord, not keeping their own rules and regulations, and not keeping the law and commandments that the Lord commanded the descendants of Jacob. Jacob, who was named Israel by the Lord before.

The Lord made a covenant with them, charging them not to fear any other god, not to kneel and serve him, nor to offer sacrifices to him.

But revere the Lord, who led you out of the land of Egypt with his great power and outstretched arm, bow down and offer sacrifices to him.

You shall always keep and follow the laws, ordinances, laws, and commandments he has written for you, and shall not fear any other god.

Do not forget the covenant that I, the Lord, have made with you, and do not fear any other gods.

But fear the Lord your God, who will deliver you from the hands of all your enemies.

But they did not listen and continued to follow their previous customs.

So these people fear the Lord and serve their idols. Their descendants also did the same, following the example of their ancestors to this day.
