Who is this who comes from Bozrah in Edom, dressed in red, dressed in splendor, with great power, and walks with great strides? It is me who spoke in righteousness and delivered with great power.

Why is your dress red, and why are your clothes like those that are being squeezed?

I kick the wine press alone. No one among the people is with me. I will kick them down in anger, trample them down in fierce anger. Their blood splattered on my clothes and polluted all of my clothes.

Because the day of revenge is in my heart, and the year of redemption for my people has arrived.

I looked up and saw no one to help. I was surprised that there was no one to support me. So my own arm saved me. My fierce anger supports me.

I was angry and kicked down all the people. I was furious and made them drunk, and poured out their blood on the ground.

I will bring up all the love and virtue that the Lord has given us, and the great kindness he has shown the house of Israel, according to his mercy and abundant love.

He said, They are indeed my people, not false subjects. In this way, he became their savior.

In all their suffering, he also suffered together. And the messenger before him saved them. He redeemed them with love and compassion. In ancient times, I always held and carried them.

They are rebellious, causing the Holy Spirit of the Lord to worry. He turned into their enemy and personally attacked them.

At that time, they remembered the days of Moses and his people in ancient times, saying, Where is the one who brought up the people and all his shepherds from the sea? Where is he who brought his Holy Spirit among them?

Let his glorious arm move on Moses’ right hand, dividing the water before them, to establish his own eternal name,

Where is the one who leads them through the depths, like horses walking in the wilderness, so that they do not stumble?

The Spirit of the Lord has given them rest, like livestock descending into valleys, so you have guided your people to establish your own glorious name.

Look down from heaven, and see from your holy and glorious dwelling. Where is your enthusiasm and your great achievements? Your admiration and pity have stopped towards us.

Although Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not recognize us, you are our father. O Lord, you are our Father. Throughout history, your name has been our Redeemer.

O Lord, why have you caused us to wander away from your way and harden our hearts from reverence for you? Please turn back for the sake of your servant’s inheritance.

Your saints only temporarily possess this property. Our enemies have trampled on your sanctuary.

We are like those whom you have not ruled over, and like those who have not been named after you.
