The wilderness and the dry land will surely rejoice. The desert will also be happy. It’s like a rose blooming again.

It will bloom and prosper, adding joy to joy, and cheering. The glory of Lebanon, and the beauty of Carmel and Sharon, will be given to him. People will see the glory of the Lord and the beauty of our God.

Make weak hands strong, and weak knees firm.

To the timid, say, Be strong and not afraid. See, your God will come for revenge, he will bring great retribution, and he will come to save you.

At that time, the eyes of the blind will open, and the ears of the deaf will open.

At that time, the lame will leap like a deer, and the mute tongue will be able to sing. In the wilderness, water will flow out, and in the desert, rivers will flow.

The shining sand (or mirage) will become a pool, and the thirsty land will become a spring. Where wild dogs lie, there will be grass, reeds, and cattails.

There must be a great road there, called the Holy Road. The unclean shall not pass by, but shall walk only for the redemption of the people, and those who walk by shall not be lost, even though they are foolish.

There will be no lions there, and fierce beasts will not climb this path; they will not be seen there. Only the redeemed walk there.

And the people redeemed by the Lord will return, singing and coming to Zion. Eternal joy shall return to their heads, and they shall find joy and joy, and sorrow and sighs shall flee away.
