Ezra_Chapter 1

In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, in order to fulfill the word spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord stirred up the heart of King Cyrus of Persia and issued a decree to the whole country, saying,

This is what King Cyrus of Persia said: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the world. And he charged me to build a house for him in Jerusalem, Judah.

Anyone among you who is his people may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and rebuild the temple of the Lord God of Israel in Jerusalem (only he is God). May God be with this person.

All those who remain, no matter where they reside, the people of that land shall help them with gold, silver, goods, and livestock, and also willingly offer gifts for the temple of God in Jerusalem.

So the chiefs of Judah and Benjamin, the priests, the Levites, and all those whose hearts were stirred up by God, rose up to Jerusalem to build the house of the Lord.

The people around them strengthened their hands with silver, gold, possessions, livestock, and precious treasures, as well as offering willingly.

King Cyrus also took out the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem and placed in his own temple of God.

King Cyrus of Persia sent the treasurer Mithridad to take out this vessel and hand it over to Shebazzar, the leader of Judah, according to its number.

The number of vessels is recorded below. Thirty gold plates, one thousand silver plates, twenty-nine knives,

Thirty golden bowls, four hundred and ten silver bowls, and a thousand other vessels.

There are a total of 5400 gold and silver vessels. When the captives went up from Babylon to Jerusalem, Shebazzar brought all these things up.
