Chronicles of the Past Dynasties_Chapter 22

David ordered the gathering of the Gentiles who were living in the land of Israel to send …

David ordered the gathering of the Gentiles who were living in the land of Israel to send stonemasons to cut stones and build the temple of God.

David prepared many iron nails and hooks for the door, and also prepared a lot of copper, too much to weigh.

And he prepared countless cedar trees, because the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought many cedar trees to David.

David said, My son Solomon is still young and delicate, and the house to be built for the Lord must be tall and magnificent, so that fame and glory may spread throughout all nations. So I need to prepare materials for the temple. So David prepared a lot of materials before he died.

David summoned his son Solomon and instructed him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel,

And he said to Solomon, My son, my heart intended to build a house for the name of the Lord my God,

But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, You have shed many people’s blood and fought many great wars. Do not build a house for my name, because you have brought many people’s blood to the earth before my eyes.

You will have a son, and he will be a peaceful person. I will make him quiet, not disturbed by the enemies around him. His name will be Solomon (meaning peace). In the days of his reign, I will bring peace and prosperity to the Israelites.

He will build a temple for my name. He wants to be my son. I want to be his father. He became the king of Israel. I will strengthen his throne forever.

My son, may the Lord be with you now, so that you may prosper and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said of you.

May the Lord give you wisdom and wisdom to govern the land of Israel and to walk in the law of the Lord your God.

If you keep and do the laws and regulations that the Lord commanded Israel through Moses, you will prosper. Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be discouraged.

I have prepared a hundred thousand talents of gold and a million talents of silver for the temple of the Lord in times of difficulty, with an abundance of copper and iron that cannot be weighed. I have also prepared wood and stone, and you can add more.

You have many craftsmen, including stonemasons, carpenters, and all skilled craftsmen who can do all kinds of work,

And there are countless gold, silver, copper, and iron. Get up and do your work, may the Lord be with you.

David also commanded the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon, saying,

Isn’t the Lord your God with you? Isn’t it safe all around you? Because he has given the inhabitants of this land into my hands, and this land has been subdued before the Lord and his people.

Now let your hearts be determined and seek the Lord your God. Let us also rise up and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that we may bring the ark of the Lord and the holy vessels of God into the temple built for the name of the Lord.
