Book of Ezekiel_Chapter 31

On the first day of the third month in the eleventh year, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his people, Who can be compared to you in power?

The king of Assyria was once like a cedar tree in Lebanon, with beautiful branches and dense shadows like a forest, extremely tall, with its tips piercing into the clouds.

Many waters make it grow. Deep water makes it grow. The planted land is surrounded by rivers, and the water channels that flow out extend to the trees in the fields.

So it is taller than the trees in the fields. When it thrives, there are many branches, and due to the power of the flood, the branches grow long.

The birds in the air are all nesting on the branches. All the beasts in the field give birth under the branches. The people of all great countries live under its shade.

The tree is big and long, becoming beautiful because its roots are by the waters.

The cedar trees in the divine garden cannot cover it. The pine tree is inferior to its branches. Maple trees are inferior to their branches. The trees in the divine garden are not as beautiful as it is.

I have made its branches numerous and beautiful, so that all the trees in the garden of God Eden envy it.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because it is tall, with its tree tips inserted into the clouds, its heart is proud and proud,

I will hand it over to the mighty among the nations. He will definitely do it. I have driven it away for its sins.

The foreigners, who are violent among the nations, cut them off and abandon them. Its branches fall in the mountains and all valleys, its branches break and fall by all the rivers of the earth. The people of the earth have walked away from its shade.

All the birds in the air shall dwell on this fallen tree, and all the beasts of the field shall lie under its branches,

So that the trees by the water will not show pride for their height, nor will they insert their tips into the clouds, and those who are nourished by the water and have power will not stand tall and independent. Because they have been handed over to death among the people and those who went down to the underworld.

This is what the Lord has said: On the day it goes down to the underworld, I will make people mourn. I have covered the abyss for it, causing the rivers to condense and the great water to stop flowing. I have also made Lebanon desolate for it, and all the trees of the field have fainted because of it.

I threw it into the underworld and went down with the person who went down to the pit. At that time, the nations trembled when they heard the sound of its fall, and all the trees of Eden were nourished by the water of Lebanon, and the best and most beautiful trees were comforted in the underworld.

They also descend to the underworld with it, to the slain. They were its arms, dwelling under its shade among the nations.

Who among the trees of the Garden of Eden can compare to you in such glory and majesty? But you shall go down to the underworld with the trees of Eden, and lie down with the slain among the uncircumcised. The pharaoh and his people were like this. This is what the Lord Jehovah has said.
