Book of Jacob_Chapter 2

My brothers, believe in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ and do not treat others according to their appearance.

If there is a person wearing a gold ring and gorgeous clothes entering your hall. There is another poor man who goes in wearing dirty clothes.

You just look back at the person wearing fancy clothes and say, please sit in this good seat. And he said to the poor man, Stand there, or sit under my footstool.

Isn’t it that you treat people with favoritism and judge them with malice?

My dear brothers, please listen. Has not God chosen the poor in the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom that He promised to those who love Him?

You actually humiliate the poor. Isn’t that wealthy person oppressing you and pulling you to the court?

Aren’t they blaspheming the honorable name you worship? (Respected or referred to as)

It is recorded in the scripture that one should love others as oneself. It is good if you all abide by this supreme law.

But if you treat people according to their appearance, it is a crime, and you are declared a lawbreaker by the law.

For whoever abides by the whole law and falls only on one point, he is guilty of breaking all the rules.

So the one who said not to commit adultery also said not to kill. Even if you do not commit adultery but kill, you have become a lawbreaker.

Since you are to be judged according to the law of freedom, speak and act according to this law.

For even those who show no mercy will be judged without mercy. Compassion is a triumph over judgment.

My brothers, if anyone says that they have faith but do not do anything, what benefit does it bring? Can this faith save him?

If a brother or sisters is naked and lacks daily food,

Some of you said to them, ‘Go in peace, may you dress warmly and eat well.’. But what is the benefit of not giving them what their bodies need?

If faith does not act, it is dead.

Someone will say, “You have faith, I have actions.”. You show me your faith without action, and I will show you my faith through my actions.

You believe in only one God, you believe well. Even ghosts and demons believe in it, but they are shocked by the war.

Are you willing to know that faith without action is dead, O vain person?

Isn’t our ancestor Abraham justified by his deeds when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?

It can be seen that faith runs parallel to his actions, and faith is achieved through actions.

This fulfills what is said in the scripture: Abraham believed in God, and this was counted as his righteousness. He is also known as God’s friend.

From this perspective, personal righteousness is based on behavior, not solely on faith.

Isn’t the prostitute Rahab also justified by her deeds when she receives messengers and lets them go out on other roads?

A body without a soul is dead, and faith without action is also dead.
