2 Corinthians_Chapter 1
Paul, who was an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and his brother Timothy, wrote letters to the church of God in Corinth and to all the saints throughout Achaea.
May grace and peace be upon you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father God, who is compassionate and gives all kinds of comfort.
In all our troubles, He comforts us, so that we may comfort those who are in all kinds of troubles with the comfort of God.
Since we have suffered more from Christ’s suffering, we have gained more comfort through him.
We are in trouble so that you may be comforted and saved. We need comfort, also to give you comfort. This comfort can make you endure the pain we have endured.
The hope we have for you is certain. Because I know that since you both suffer together, you will also receive comfort together.
Brothers, we do not want you to be unaware that we were once subjected to suffering in Asia, oppressed too heavily and unable to overcome, to the point where even hope for life was cut off.
I also firmly believe in my own heart that I will die, so that we may not rely on myself, but on God who brings the dead back to life.
He once saved us from that great death, but now he will still save us, and we hope that he will save us again in the future.
You help us with prayer, so that many may thank us for the grace we have received through many.
What we boast of is our own conscience, witnessing us in the holiness and honesty of God, not in the wisdom of men, but in the grace of God, and even more so to you.
What we are writing to you now is nothing more than what you read and know, and I also hope that you will eventually know each other.
Just as you already have some understanding of us. We boast about ourselves, just as we boast about you on the day of our Lord Jesus.
Since I am so convinced, I have long intended to come to you for your benefit.
I will also pass through you and go to Macedonia, and then return from Macedonia to you, so that you may send me on my way to Judea.
I have this intention, isn’t it just fluctuating? Does my intention arise from desire, causing me to be swayed between right and wrong?
I speak of the faithful God, saying, The word we preach to you is neither right nor wrong.
Because there is no right or wrong in Jesus Christ, the son of God, whom I, Silas, and Timothy have preached among you. There is only one right in him.
No matter how many promises God has, they are all true in Christ, and therefore through Him they are also true, that God may be glorified through us.
He who strengthens us and you in Christ, and anoints us, is God.
He also stamped us with his seal and gave the Holy Spirit as a sign in our hearts. (Original text quality).
I call on God to bear witness to my heart, that I did not go to Corinth to be tolerant of you.
We are not governing your faith, but helping your joy. Because you can only stand by faith.
