psalm_Chapter 17
(David’s prayer.) O Lord, hear righteousness, turn your ear to my cry. Please pay attention to my prayers that do not come from deceitful lips.
May my judgment come from before you. May your eyes see justice.
You have tested my heart. You observe me at night. You refined me, but couldn’t find anything. I aspire to say that there is no fault in my mouth.
When it comes to human behavior, I guard myself through the words of your lips and do not follow the path of violence.
My feet have set your path, and my feet have not slipped.
O God, I have called upon you, for you will answer me. Please turn your ear to me and listen to my words.
Please show your wonderful love. You are the one who uses your right hand to save those who have taken refuge in you and to break free from those who attack them.
Please protect me, just like protecting the pupils in your eyes. Hide me under the shade of your wings,
Make me free from the wicked who oppress me, from the enemy who besieges me and seeks to harm my life.
Their hearts are wrapped in fat. They speak proudly with their mouths.
They besieged our footsteps. They stared at us, trying to push us to the ground.
He is like a lion eager to catch food, and like a young lion crouching in the darkness.
Arise, O Lord, go and meet the enemy, and overthrow them. Use your knife to save my life from the wicked.
O Lord, save me with your hand from the world, from the one who is blessed in this life. You fill their stomachs with your treasure. They were satisfied with having children and left the rest of their possessions to their infants.
As for me, I will see your face in righteousness. When I wake up and see your image, I am satisfied.
