Proverbs_Chapter 6
My son, if you act as a guarantor for a friend and give high fives for an outsider,
You are entangled by the words in your mouth, caught by the words in your mouth.
My son, since you have fallen into the hands of a friend, just act like this to save yourself. You should feel inferior and plead with your friends.
Don’t let your eyes sleep, don’t let your eyelids take a nap.
Save yourself like a deer from the hand of a hunter, like a bird from the hand of a bird catcher.
Lazy people, go and observe the movements of ants, and you will gain wisdom.
Ants have no marshals, no officials, no kings,
Prepare food in the summer and gather grain during harvest.
Lazy person, how long will you sleep? When do you wake up?
Take another nap, take a nap, hold hands and lie down for a while,
Your poverty will come like a thief, and your lack will come like a man armed with weapons.
A rogue villain acts with a twisted tongue.
Use your eyes to convey your thoughts, use your feet to indicate, and use your fingers to swipe.
A rebellious heart, always plotting evil, spreading and dividing.
So disaster will suddenly come upon him. He will be instantly corrupted and incurable.
There are six things that the Lord hates, even seven things that his heart hates.
It’s the proud eyes, the lying tongue, the hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that plots evil, a foot that runs away to do evil,
False witnesses who speak lies, and those who spread discord among brothers.
My son, keep the commandments of your father and do not abandon the laws of your mother. (or as a guide)
Always tie it to your heart and hang it on your neck.
As you walk, he will guide you. Lie down, he will keep you safe. When you wake up, he will talk to you.
For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light. The reproach of instruction is the way of life.
It can keep you away from wicked women and from the flattering tongue of foreign women.
Don’t admire her beauty in your heart, and don’t be seduced by her eyelids.
Because prostitutes can leave a person with only a piece of cake, and prostitutes hunt for a precious life.
If a person carries fire in their arms, can their clothes not be burned?
If a person walks on charcoal, how can their feet not be scalded?
The same goes for those who are close to their neighbor’s wife. Anyone who approaches her will inevitably be punished.
Thieves steal to satisfy hunger, and no one despises them.
If found, he will compensate seven times. I will repay everything in my home.
Those who commit adultery with women are ignorant, and those who do this will lose their lives.
He will be injured and humiliated. His shame cannot be smeared.
Because of human jealousy, it has become a raging anger. When seeking revenge, never show mercy.
He disregards any ransom price. Although you have given many gifts, he is not willing to rest.
