Proverbs_Chapter 1

The Proverbs of Solomon son of David, King of Israel.

To make people aware of wisdom and instruction. Distinguish between fluent language.

To teach people wisdom, righteousness, fairness, and uprightness in their dealings.

To make fools wise, to give young men knowledge and strategy.

To make wise men hear and increase their knowledge. Enable wise people to acquire wisdom.

Make people understand proverbs and metaphors, understand the words and riddles of wise people.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

My son, listen to your father’s teachings and do not abandon your mother’s laws. (or as a guide)

Because this will be a crown on your head and a golden chain on your neck.

My son, if the wicked tempt you, do not follow.

If they say, “Come with us, we will ambush and shed blood, and we will ambush and harm the innocent.”.

We are like the underworld, swallowing them alive. They are like the people who went down to the pit, being swallowed whole by us.

We will obtain all kinds of treasures and fill our houses with the plunder.

You are on par with all of us. We share a bag.

My son, don’t walk with them. Prohibit your feet from walking their path.

Because their feet run and do evil, they quickly shed human blood.

It’s like a flying bird, with its net set in front of it but not avoiding.

These people are ambushing to shed their own blood. Crouching is for self harm.

This is the path of all those who are greedy for wealth and profit. This greed takes away the life of those who obtain wealth.

Wisdom shouts in the market and speaks out in the open.

Shouting in the bustling streets, speaking at the city gate, and in the city.

How long will you say that fools love foolishness, mockers love mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

You should turn back because of my reproach. I will pour out my spirit on you and reveal my words to you.

I call for you to refuse to listen. I reached out and nobody paid attention.

Refuse all my advice and refuse to accept my reproach.

When disaster befalls you, I will laugh and fear will come upon you, and I will scoff.

Terror is upon you like a raging wind, disaster is upon you like a storm. Urgent distress and pain are upon you.

At that time, you will cry to me, but I will not answer. You will earnestly seek me, but you will not find me.

Because you hate knowledge and do not love the fear of the Lord,

Not listening to my advice, disdaining all my reproach,

Therefore they will eat their own fruits and be filled with their own strategies.

A foolish person who goes astray will kill themselves, while a foolish person who is at ease will harm their own life.

Only those who listen to me will live in peace, enjoy peace, and not be afraid of disaster.
