Dear brothers, what I am writing to you now is the second letter. These two letters are both reminders to inspire your honest hearts.

May you remember the words spoken by the holy prophets in advance, and the commands of the Lord and Savior, which the apostles sent to you.

The first thing is to know that in the end times there will be mockers who will follow their own selfish desires and mock, saying,

Where are the main promises of coming? Because since the ancestors fell asleep, all things have remained the same as when they were first created.

They deliberately forgot that from ancient times, they had heaven by the command of God, and the land was borrowed from water.

Therefore, the world at that time was destroyed when it was submerged in water.

But now the heavens and the earth are still preserved by that life, until the day of judgment and downfall for the ungodly, and burned with fire.

Dear brothers, there is one thing you must not forget: in the eyes of the Lord, one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.

The Lord’s promise has not yet been fulfilled, and some people think he is delaying. However, it is not delaying, but tolerating you. We do not want anyone to sink, but rather everyone to repent.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that day, there will be a loud noise and destruction, and everything of form and quality will be destroyed by the flames. The ground and everything on it are about to burn out.

Since all of these things are to be dissolved in this way, how should you be holy and devout in your conduct,

Eagerly hope for the day of God to come. On that day, if it was burned down, it would be sold out, and everything with substance would be melted down by the flames.

But as he promised, we hope for a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness resides.

Dear brothers, since you have hoped for these things, be diligent, so that you may not be defiled, blameless, and see the Lord in peace.

And I will take my Lord’s long patience as the cause of salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him.

In all his letters, he also talks about this matter. There are some things in the letter that are difficult to understand. Those who lack knowledge and are not strong will interpret them forcefully, just like other scriptures, and they will lead to self destruction.

Dear brothers, since you knew this beforehand, be on guard, lest you be tempted by the error of the wicked and fall from your own steadfastness.

But you shall grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May glory be given to him from now on and forever. Amen.
