On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Haggai, saying,

Speak to Zerubbabel son of Salatiel, the governor of Judah, and Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. And the remaining people said,

Who among you has seen the former glory of this temple? How are you looking now? Don’t you see it as nothing in your eyes?

O Zerubbabel, even so, be strong. Joshua, the son of Jozadak, the high priest, be strong. Be strong and work hard, all the people of this land, for I am with you. This is what the Lord of armies has said.

This is according to the words of the covenant I made with you when you left Egypt. At that time, my spirit resided among you. Don’t be afraid.

This is what the Lord of hosts says: In a short time, I will once again shake the heavens and the earth, the sea, and the dry land.

I will shake all nations. The treasures of all nations will come, and I will fill this temple with glory. This is what the Lord of armies has said.

The Lord of hosts says, Silver is mine, and gold is also mine.

The later glory of this temple will be greater than the previous glory. I will grant peace in this place. This is what the Lord of armies has said.

In the second year of King Darius, on the twenty fourth day of the ninth month, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Haggai, saying,

This is what the Lord of hosts says: Ask the priests about the law,

Is it considered holy if someone carries holy flesh with their collar, and their collar touches bread, soup, wine, oil, or other food? The priest said, It is not considered holy.

Haggai also said, “If someone becomes unclean by touching a dead body and then touches the same thing as these, is this thing considered unclean?”? The priest said, It will be considered unclean.

So Haggai said, ‘The Lord has said,’ This people and this country are also like this before me. ‘. All kinds of work under their command is like this. The same goes for what they offer on the altar.

Now remember, before this day, there was not a single stone resting on a stone in the temple of the Lord.

On all those days, someone came to the valley and thought about twenty dou, only getting ten dou. Someone came to the wine pool and thought of fifty barrels, but only got twenty barrels.

In all the work under your command, I attacked you with drought, mold, and hail. You still don’t turn to me. This is what the Lord has said.

Remember before this day, from the twenty fourth day of the ninth month until the day when the foundation of the temple of the Lord was established.

Is there any grain in the barn? Grape trees, fig trees, pomegranate trees, and olive trees have not produced any fruit. From today on, I will bless you.

On the twenty fourth day of this month, the word of the Lord came to Haggai again, saying,

Tell Zerubbabel, the governor of Judah, that I will shake heaven and earth.

I will overthrow the thrones of the nations, destroy the power of the nations, and overthrow the chariots and those who sit on them. Horses will fall, and those who ride on them will fall. Everyone will be killed by the sword of their brothers.

And the Lord of hosts said, O Zerubbabel, the son of Saratie, my servant, in that day will I take you as my seal, because I have chosen you. This is what the Lord of armies has said.
