John's Three Books_Chapter 1
As an elder, I am writing to my dear Gaius, whom I truly love.
Dear brother, I wish you prosperity in all things and a strong body, just as your soul prospers.
When brothers come to prove the truth in your heart, just as you walk according to the truth, I am overjoyed.
I have heard my children walk according to the truth, and my joy is greater than this.
Dear brother, everything you do to your fellow travelers is faithful.
They proved your love in front of the church. If you are worthy of God and help them move forward, that would be great.
Because they went out in the name of the Lord and took nothing from the Gentiles.
So we should receive such people and ask us to work with them for the truth.
I once wrote a brief letter to the church. But Diopheus, who is the leader in the church, does not receive us.
So if I go, I will mention what he has done. It’s him using malicious language to falsely accuse us. Not yet satisfied with this, he himself did not receive his brothers. If someone was willing to receive them, he also forbade them and drove those who received them out of the church.
Dear brother, do not imitate evil, just imitate good. Those who do good belong to God. Those who do evil have never seen God.
And all the people witnessed the good deeds of Demetrius. And truth bears witness to him. We are also witnesses to him. You also know that our testimony is true.
I have many things to write to you, but I am unwilling to write them with pen and ink.
But I hope to see you soon, so we can discuss it face-to-face.
May you be safe. All my friends greet you. Please greet my friends by name.
